Mark has held this position for 6 years and has 15 years experience with the company, progressing from design engineering to Co-CEO over the period. Mark has been granted four patents in seismometer design during his tenure at Nanometrics. Prior to joining Nanometrics, Mark worked for 3 years at Northern Telecom Europe Ltd in Hemel Hempstead, UK. Mark has a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics from Queen's University in Canada and an MBA with distinction from the University of Oxford in the UK a.
Neil joined Nanometrics as a share holder in 1992 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining Nanometrics, Neil worked for Teledyne Geotech in the UK and Dallas. Neil holds a B.Sc. degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography from the Marine Science Labs in Menai Bridge, UK. Outside of work, Neil enjoys flying and holds a commercial pilot's license and flight instructor rating.
Tim is responsible for all aspects of software architecture and development. Tim first began working at Nanometrics in 1986 progressing to software engineer after graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Engineering) in 1990. From 1995-2003 Tim worked at AOL (America Online) as a Software Engineer and later as a Systems Architect. Tim has been Vice President of Software since 2004.
Ian is responsible for Finance, Risk, Human Resources, Order Fulfillment, and Facilities. WIth a Chartered Accounting designation from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the UK, Ian has international experience in Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, Treasury, Performance Management, Manufacturing and Distribution. Ian has experience teaching business and holds an honors degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Natal, South Africa.
Bruce is responsible for hardware products architecture, design and development. Prior to joining Nanometrics in 2003, Bruce held positions of increasing responsibility at Nortel Networks, most recently Director Research and Development in Nortel's Advanced Technology Investments group. Bruce is inventor or co-inventor of several patents in the fields of both telecommunication and instrumentation. Bruce began his engineering career with Bell-Northern Research, Nortel's R&D subsidiary, in 1982 after completing his Bachelor Electrical Engineering (Honours) at McGill University.
Mark is responsible for all aspects of Operations, including: Product Assembly, Procurement, Planning and Warehousing. Prior to joining Nanometrics in 2008, Mark was Director of Production, Supply Chain Management and Customer Service at CurtissWright Controls. Prior to CurtissWright, Mark was Director of Demand Planning, Materials, Warehousing and Supplier Quality Assurance at Mitel Corporation, a global provider of public and private telephone switching equipment.
