Nanometrics is looking for a dynamic Supply Chain Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director, Manufacturing, the candidate will actively run the sourcing and procurement process. We are looking for someone with a strong business acumen who will provide leadership to ensure materials are purchased, warehoused and packed in a lean manufacturing environment ensuring lowest cost and highest quality.The position requires a practical, hands-on professional who can work with business leaders across the organization.  We are looking for a talented individual who is self-driven, motivated, and demonstrates a desire to improve and modernize practices.  


Job Duties

  • Responsible for leading a supply chain group including mentoring, coaching, recruiting, and performance management

  • Directs the purchase of manufacturing components to assure production schedules are met at the lowest possible cost consistent with company contracts.

  • Manage the procurement and quality evaluation of suppliers through development of vendor relationships.

  • Responsible for maintenance and execution of all Systems relating to procurement functions. 

  • Ensure that all suppliers meet the quality standards set by the company.

  • Minimize supply chain risk for new and existing vendors and ensure the security and cost efficiency of the of the supply chain

  • Improve process effectiveness/efficiency by partnering with key stakeholders within the business

  • Directs Contract manufacturer assessments and supplier qualification

  • Negotiate supplier contracts

  • Introduce and manage key performance metrics in cost, quality and delivery performance; implement programs to ensure constant improvement in these indicators

  • Support new product introduction including new supply coordination and timely purchase of materials

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (i.e. BComm, BA, BSc and/or MBA)

  • 5-8 Years’ progressive experience (including management) in Supply Chain roles (Procurement, Planning and Warehouse).

  • Contract negotiation experiences a must.

  • PMAC certification would be desirable.

  • Must have experience leading a supply chain group

  • Demonstrable experience in Six Sigma/LEAN manufacturing methodologies

  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain and quality systems
