Nanometrics Strong Motion Accelerographs receive approval from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety

Nanometrics is pleased to announce that the TitanEA Strong Motion Accelerograph has been approved for sale in Los Angeles, California, USA.  The instrument was tested and evaluated by the Los Angeles Department of Building Safety (LADBS) and was approved for compliance with the requirements of §1613.10 of the Los Angeles Building Code*.

The Titan Strong Motion Building Monitoring Kit contains all the components required to meet the Los Angeles building code.  Building owners and operators now have a simple, low cost option for ensuring compliance with the Los Angeles building code. Since the Titan Strong Motion Building Monitoring Kit is easily installed with standard CAT5 ethernet cable, building owners no longer need to manage expensive, analogue cables or central recording devices in order to comply with the requirements of the LADBS.

*The International Building Code (§L101) and the LA Building Code (§1613.10) require that structures that have more than 10 stories (or more than 6 stories with an aggregate floor space of 60,000 sq’) must equip the building with three accelerographs.
