Nanometrics Welcomes Kit Chambers to Oil & Gas Division
Nanometrics is pleased to announce that Kit Chambers, PhD, has joined as Senior Geophysicist in the Science and Research department, Oil & Gas division. Based in the UK, Dr. Chambers will lead the company’s scientific research initiatives.
“Kit’s contribution to our science and research team will enable further expansion of our data products portfolio,” says Dario Baturan, Director of Technical Operations.
“He is joining us at a good time,” adds David Shorey, VP, Oil & Gas Division, “as the demand for our induced seismicity monitoring and advanced data processing continues to grow.”
Kit completed his PhD at the University of Oxford in "Seismological modelling of global earth structure”. He then went on to spend time as a post-doc at the University of Bristol working on problems related to wave propagation modelling and detection and location of microseismic events in North Sea reservoirs. Following his time at Bristol, he co-founded the start up, RockTalk Imaging Ltd, to further develop processing methods for large surface microseismic deployments. RockTalk Imaging was subsequently incorporated into Pinnacle/Halliburton, where he continued as the technical lead for the surface microseismic group.
