Nanometrics Receives Recognition From the Saudi Geological Survey

Nanometrics was a proud Gold sponsor of the Saudi Geological Survey’s (SGS) 7th Annual Gulf Seismic Forum in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, January 23 – 25, 2012.  Many of the Gulf countries attended the forum as well as other international visitors.  The Prince Mishaal bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah Province, thanked and presented Nanometrics Co-President, Neil Spriggs, with the SGS Gulf Seismic Forum plaque recognizing the contribution to SGS and its important role in the Kingdom.

“This meeting is an important gathering of all relevant scientific expertise in the Gulf region, with respect to all related disciplines in seismology, volcanology and geology,” said Mr. Spriggs.  “As the world leader in seismic instrumentation and networks, it is imperative that we support the seismology community in this region.”

The launch of new products, such as Trillium 120 Borehole Seismometer, Trillium 120 Posthole Seismometer and the Titan Strong Motion product lines, was extremely well received at the Gulf Seismic Forum.  As a key provider of instrumentation to the Saudi Geological Survey’s national seismic network, Nanometrics continues to grow and expand its role in the Gulf region.
